MID Plot (Mineral Identification Plot).

The use of several Charts is then necessary.
We start with the density - neutron.
The readings of the logs give us a point.
From this point while following the parallel lines until a null porosity, we will obtain a ma apparent for the matrix. In the same way we use the chart neutron-sonic, which will give us a tma apparent for the matrix.
We use the Chart MID plot where are represented the points corresponding to a simple matrix. And we can thus determine the composition of the matrix.

tf = 189 s/ft (for water), f = 1.0 g/cc (for water), nf = 1, n =The porosity of neutron limestone calibrated.

This figure represents the MID plot of formations .

Cross-plot between the porosity read on a neutron Limestone calibrated
and the density when the drilling fluid is fresh mud.

The MID plot makes it possible to compare the values of matrix density
and tma of the matrix.
